International Giftedness Evaluation in Madrid

International Giftedness Evaluation in Madrid

International Giftedness Evaluation in Madrid is a specialized service designed for international families who need a rigorous and comprehensive assessment of giftedness, twice-exceptionality, learning profiles and cognitive development.

Our center has evaluated students from Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia, providing clear reports, detailed explanations for families and practical recommendations that can be applied both at home and at school.

The evaluation process goes beyond a single intelligence score. It integrates reasoning, creativity, learning style, executive functioning, emotional development and school adaptation, allowing families and schools to fully understand how the student’s potential truly manifests.

Our goal is simple: to help families understand their child deeply and provide practical guidance that improves wellbeing, motivation and educational development.

A centre with extensive experience in complex learning profiles

Since 2006 our team has evaluated students from many regions of Spain, Europe and other parts of the world. Families usually come to us when they need more than a simple cognitive test result. They want to understand how the student’s potential, emotional development and school experience interact.

Many gifted students present asynchronous development or profiles in which strengths and difficulties coexist. Understanding these dynamics requires a careful and well-structured evaluation process that considers cognitive abilities, creativity, emotional functioning and school adaptation.

Directed by Juan José Millán

The evaluation process is directed by Juan José Millán, specialist in psychopedagogical assessment, learning development and complex cognitive profiles. His professional experience combines clinical evaluation with many years working directly within educational contexts, which allows the evaluation to remain closely connected to real school situations.

How the evaluation process works

Comprehensive profile analysis

The evaluation examines cognitive development, learning processes, creativity, emotional functioning and school adaptation to obtain a complete picture of the student.

Attention to asynchronous development

Many gifted students develop unevenly across areas. Understanding these differences is essential in order to support the student effectively.

Consideration of twice exceptionality

High abilities may coexist with learning difficulties, attention problems, autism spectrum conditions or emotional distress. These interactions are carefully analysed during the evaluation.

Clear recommendations

The final report includes practical guidance for families and schools, helping translate the evaluation into meaningful educational decisions.

Twice Exceptional Students

Understanding Twice Exceptional (2e) Students

Some students show very advanced intellectual abilities while at the same time experiencing learning difficulties, attention problems, emotional distress or other developmental differences. These students are often referred to as twice exceptional (2e).

In many cases, the strengths can mask the difficulties, or the difficulties can hide the giftedness. Without a careful and well-structured evaluation, these complex profiles may remain misunderstood for many years.

High intellectual potential

Students may show advanced reasoning, curiosity, creativity or deep interest in complex topics. However, these strengths do not always translate into school performance.

Coexisting learning difficulties

Gifted students may also experience dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, attention difficulties, autism spectrum conditions or emotional challenges.

Masked profiles

Sometimes high cognitive abilities compensate for the difficulty and hide it. In other cases the difficulty prevents the giftedness from being recognised.

Asynchronous development

It is common to see very advanced intellectual reasoning together with emotional, executive or academic areas that develop at a different pace.

Misinterpretation in school

Twice exceptional students are sometimes seen as inconsistent, unmotivated or distracted when in reality they have a complex developmental profile.

Need for a careful evaluation

Understanding these profiles requires an evaluation that looks beyond isolated scores and studies the interaction between abilities, learning processes and emotional development.

If you suspect that your child may be both highly capable and struggling in certain areas, a specialized evaluation can help clarify the situation and guide meaningful support.
